The Hotel

Mid-way between a boutique design hotel and a contemporary photography gallery, the Hôtel Atmosphères offers a unique stay amidst the permanent display of Thierry des Ouches’ work on Paris.

In collusion with Vincent Bastie, renowned architect and winner of several prizes for his themed hotel designs, the Hotel Atmosphères weaves a story where Paris is the setting and each traveller is the hero. Hence, the architect was inspired to use the details within Thierry des Ouches’ work to create a universe in total harmony with these exclusive pieces. Colours, fabrics, furniture… each bring the images captured by Thierry des Ouches to life with subtlety and elegance to recreate Paris at its very heart.

The Hotel Atmosphères features 56 rooms including 9 suites styled around 4 atmospheres epitomising the character and identity of the capital. Such as, Monuments, By Night, Urban, Tea house.

Our peaceful lounge and it's honesty bar welcomes you with a trendy and customized music. You can enjoy T. Des Ouches' photographies' exhibition or choose to relax by reading or playing with our various board games.

To start the day, a french-style breakfast is served from 7am to 11am.

On the menu : assorted artisanal breads and french pastries, toasts, traditional jams, cereals, fruits salad and fresh fruit juice, local farm yogurts, cheese, cold cuts and meat, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, tea, coffee, hot chocolate ...

Open from 7am to 10pm. Free for guests.

The gym has a running machine, exercise bike, Lipo sculpting, free weights, floor mats and a large ball. We also offer a sauna and a "wellness system" hydro-massage bed: the bed consists of a mattress filled with water and air nozzles that provide a 20 minute massage.

Guests should make a reservation to use the massage bed and tell us in advance when they would like to use the sauna so that we can make sure it is hot.

The Hôtel Atmosphères is ideally located within walking distance from emblematic Parisian monuments such as Saint-Germain church, the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre, Quais de La Tournelle, Sorbonne, the Pantheon or Notre-Dame cathedral. This area houses many art galleries, antique shops and quality fashion shops as well as restaurants, cafes and jazz clubs.

The beautiful Jardins du Luxembourg are only a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

His photos are exhibited regularly in museums and institutions, including the National Library of France in 2000 to mark the incorporation of some of his work into the permanent collections.

Thierry des Ouches was named a Knight of the French Order of Arts in 2002. In 2004, he exhibited his photographs of cows in extra-large format at the Place Vendôme and in 2006 on the Esplanade des Invalides. In 2010, a retrospective exhibition of his work was held to celebrate the launch of the book, “Thierry des Ouches, 35 years of photography” (Somogy).
